COMMANDER'S MESSAGE
Funeral services were held on February 4, 2005, at the National Cemetery in Queen Creek, Arizona, for our faithful and dedicated Patriot, Robert Radke - Our condolences to his wife Shirley. He was a life long member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 422, Phoenix, Arizona, and has held just about every office with our Chapter, including the office of Commander. He has contributed greatly by volunteering his services, such as feeding the homeless, providing toiletries for the VA Volunteering Services, representing the MOPH at many, many community activities and veteran's functions. Robert, rest in peace. We will miss you. You have certainly earned you place in heaven by helping our veterans. Thank you for your unselfish services in serving our country in time of need.
Walk in Peace,
Stan Lomayesva, Commander, Chapter 422
MARK YOUR CALENDERS!

A new POW/ MIA monument will also be dedicated on that same day. That will take place after the parade and should start around 10:AM. Hope to see you there!
FINANCE OFFICER'S REPORT
I am please to report that the Chapter is in good shape. Department Officers audited our books and gave us high marks for the detail and consistency in which our numbers are presented each month.
I must tell you how truly saddened we are by the death of Patriot Bob Radke. For 15 years Bob has been an active and loyal Chapter member - He served as Commander for 1996 to 1998. Bob was always cheerful and inspiring. He never complained, even though he endured blindness and dialysis three times a week. Bob and his wife, Shirley, have been so very important in the activities of the Unit and the Chapter. My wife, Sue, and I join the other members of the USS Arizona Memorial Chapter of the MOPH in saluting our departed Patriot and sending our deepest condolences to Shirley and the extended family members.
Yours truly,
Warren Gilbertson
CHAPLAIN'S PEW
Well here it is Groundhog's Day and I wonder what changes this year will bring for us.
Days and dates to remember - February 9 - Ash Wednesday; February 14th - Valentines Day; February 21 - President's Day; February 23 - Washington's Birthday (he instituted the Purple Heart Medal!). On all of these dates we should fly the flag.
On January 20th, I received a call that Patriot Robert Radke was home from the hospital and was not doing too well. Art Harness had been visiting the VA nursing home for the past 8 months. Art and Robert were always faithful in attending our meetings. Today, Sunday January 30th I received news that one of the most faithful Patriots attending meetings has passed away - our Jr. Vice President and more, Robert Radke. With deepest sympathy, I send my personal and heartfelt condolences to Shirley and her family on their great loss. Our Patriot member is gone, but will never be forgotten. God bless you and your family.
We have many Patriots that live to in other Arizona cities and also out of state that cannot attend. So we more or less count on your attendance.
I'm always in need of clean blankets and clothing to send to the Navajo Mission in New Mexico. Just bring them to the meeting.
Please remember your fellow Patriots in your prayers. In case of any sickness or death, call me at (623) 974-1427.
Keeping all of you and your families in my daily prayers.
