Stated Meeting October 15, 2004
- Commander Lomayesva opened the stated meeting at 10:00 am, according to ritual.
- No applications for membership were submitted.
- Minutes of the September 17, 2004, meeting were approved as written.
- Patriots Gilbertson and Radke assumed the responsibility for Chapter 422 to participate in VAVS Grant #17 and #18. Each grant provided for, reimbursable, spending authority of $476.52 and original receipts of the expenditures, for hospitalized veterans, are due in the Adjutant's Office by December 1, 2004.
- Finance Officer Gilbertson reported a September 2004, book balance of $5,586.67.
- Adjutant Suddarth reported on chapter 422 participation in the Veterans Day Parade that will be held on November 11, 2004, starting at 11:00 am. Specific instructions pertaining to staging, destaging, will be provided to participants at a later date by email and snail mail.
- Commander Lomayseva and Adjutant Suddarth reported that Patriot Frank Kulikowski, Past Chapter 422 Commander, who passed away, left $6,813.32, from his estate, that was directed to Chapter 790. Patriot Puskar, Department Adjutant, did an outstanding job of separating the wheat from the chaff by making contact with Ms. Loretta Cullin, the sole surviving family member of Patriot Kulikowski to determine the correct beneficiary of his request. Based on the investigation of Department Adjutant Puskar, Ms. Cullen directed that the $6,813.32 be redirected to Chapter 422. In his email, dated October 1, 2004, Department Adjutant Puskar, stated that Tom Smith, Finance Officer of Chapter 790, would send a check for $6,813.32 to Chapter 422 to bring closure to the matter. A special "thank you" goes to Department Adjutant Puskar for his efforts to meet the wishes of the surviving family member of Patriot Kulikowski. Department Adjutant Puskar stated that Commander John Suardini of Chapter 790 was fully involved in the process referenced above.
- Chaplain Radlinski reported that no Patriots were in distress.
- No special committee reports.
- No communications to consider.
- No unfinished business.
- Reaffirmed that a $50.00 stipend be sent to the Ware Family to be utilized at their direction.
- Chapter 422 will participate in the Veterans Day Recognition Day, October 17, 2004, at the State Fair.
- Chapter 422 will participate in the Veterans Support our Troops Rally on October 23, 2004, 10:00 am - 12:00 am at Wesley Bolin Plaza.
- Patriot Smith will post the monthly newsletter of Chapter 422 on his Web Page at no cost for the chapter. Thank you Patriot Smith.
