Happy Holidays to everyone! December is a hectic month with lots going on. We know you are busy, but we hope you can find time to attend one of our events. On the top of the list is the one event you will not want to miss. Bring the wife and kids. The Ahwatukee Foothills Concert Band will perform their Holiday Concert on December th 16th at the Recreation Center, it is between 48th street and 51st street on Cheyenne Drive, which is one block south of Elliot Road. What can you lose? You will hear beautiful music and see the home of Legion Post #64.
Our annual New Years Eve dance on December 31st will be from 8:30 to 12:30 and dance to the music of Ken Aldrin. Cake and coffee will be served. As always tickets must be bought in advance and it’s always BYOB. No drinks are sold at the dance, so bring you own beverage plus your beverage glasses. Tickets will be sold at the Rec. Center. Call 893-2549 for information.
Membership
We have reached 82% of our goal for 2005. Lets reach 100% by January 1st. I have underlined the address of those who have not as yet paid for 2005. Dues can be paid at our next meeting. We welcome new members Hobart Meyer Jr. and John M Sweeney. We hope they become active, as we need new members for our Color Guard.
Post Everlasting
I can not seem to get away form this heading, we lost John P Donovan on 11/2 and we also lost our Adjutant’s loved one, who helped at numerous affairs, on 11/17. There will be a Memorial Mass for Renee Roloff at Corpus Christi Church, 36th and Knox Road, on December 10th at 9:30.
Next meeting will be December 15, 3 PM, at the Rec. Center. Our speaker will be Henry Szot and he will have a short video of the Purple Heart Society.
