June 2004
Hi. Our hectic May schedule is finished and now we can concentrate on future activities. In a recap of the month of May you will recall that our last school presentation was May 28th. Over Memorial Day weekend our hot dogs and coke activity held outside of Ace Hardware store at 48th and Warner Road brought in over $600 in donations. We ended on May 31st with a Memorial Ceremony at 2 PM. It was HOT so we thank all of our volunteers for a job well done. A very big, thank you, to Ace Hardware and Bashas' for their donations of "dogs and coke."
At our May meeting a new slate of officers was elected ant they will be in charge starting June 1st. Any questions contact them and give them a helping hand.

Bob Bowden's Flag Etiquette Tip -
Flag Day is June 14th. Designated as the one-day of the year to especially honor and fly Old Glory, please make the effort to respond. If you do not have a Flag, get one. If you do not have a Flag, get one. If your Flag is worn and faded, get a new one. And remember your worn and faded Flag may be deposited at the Recreation Center, where we will properly retire it from service. Flag Day. It's only once a year - and it is YOUR Flag.
The next Legion meeting is June 16th 3 PM at the Rec. Center. Our speaker will be Jim Eshelman. Come and hear what our Rec. Center President has to say. Everyone is invited, it is not necessary to be a Post member.
There will be no monthly meetings during July and August and no monthly newsletter. Last meeting will be June 16th until the next meeting on September 15th at 3 PM at the Recreation Center. Until then, have a nice summer.
